LEFT BEHIND: A Film That Tackles About The Coming Apocalypse

One night I was looking some full movie uploaded in Youtube to drowse me off and help me eventually sleep. I was thinking of finding some sci-fi or animated movie but I found some rather compelling movie instead. Compelling because this movie is a sequel about the upcoming apocalypse which talks about the rapture, Anti-Christ, revelations in the bible etc.. This is the first time I even heard of the movie but I just can't stop my urge of finishing the whole of it. It's a three part movie that I wish to share with you.

There were a number of times I cried in some scenes, not because they are dramatic but because they talk about God. I don't have the word to explain it exactly how I feel. If you want to know what I am talking about, please feel free to watch it below.

(I could not upload the first part as video so please just click on the title and you will be directed to the Youtube link)

THE LEFT BEHIND - Part II

May you be blessed watching the movie. :)

Take Some Risk

Have you ever met someone special at the wrong time? OR Are you in at the wrong time when you met a special someone? However you want to answer this, it all boils down to the bottom line which is something’s wrong – wrong timing.

For sure you can relate, don’t you? It happened to me maybe not once. (I shall speak of this in my tell-all series, SOON!). That awkward feeling knowing that you like him so much but your entire faculty seems to agree that you are not ready yet. Something inside of you is yelling and telling you to wait. And the plea gets louder as you both become sweeter.

Question: If you both like each other then why is there a need of waiting? I think I can answer it this way. This is not the issue of readiness. Simply, this is because of fear. Fear not to enter a new relationship. Fear of worthlessness. Fear of being rejected in the long run. Fear of not being loved back. Fear of reciprocation and of course the fear of – Risk Taking.

I believe that’s the sum of all fear. We are scared to love again and open ourselves hence making us not completely moved on from a painful ending. Because we know that the moment we open ourselves, it makes us vulnerable to almost all sorts of emotions. You may hide it, but you can never escape from feeling every pain and joy of it.

Wrapping it with this;

Someday someone might come into your life and love you the way you've always wanted. If your someday was yesterday, learn. If your someday is tomorrow, hope. If your someday is today, cherish.

Solenn Heusaff's Fire: Great Song and Singer minus Production

On my way up to the office I heard a wonderful if not quite peculiar beat of a song. Then after a few seconds I find myself stomping my feet with the unique tune of it. So as I got into my desk I tried to search for keywords of the song I heard, for me to find out the title of it and eventually the singer. And to my surprise it’s OPM (Original Pinoy Music). Not that I do not admire OPM, it’s just that I think we have so many talented singers and composers yet handled with a very bad production team. You see, many pinoy who can sing well here and even sport great dancing moves, far better than Koreans or any Asian counterparts; however, there’s a gigantic difference. If Kpop were sold well by productions through fashion, technical play outs of voices and all that unique music videos and packaging, OURS, sad to say, remained to be very laid back. It may not be the worst but certainly not the best. Seems like we are satisfied being a mediocre. You know! That awkward thought that we haven’t raised the level a step higher. So if we would have to compete with them, then the bar has to be raised 2 to 3 points up. No wonder why in our very own local market, our local artist were continuously being defeated in album sales and popularity than those of our foreign competitors.

Alright, going back to the song I was talking about - it is entitled “Fire” by Solenn Heusaff. Considerably an OPM still, though she is of foreign blood since the song was made and done here in the Philippines. I honestly think, she owns a very unique timbre of voice. I really don’t know her much as I do not watch most of the Kapuso shows but certainly if I am to rate her with this it would be a “AAA” grade.

Nevertheless, I am disappointed upon how it was rolled out into the clutches of the entire production. Music video na parang tinipid o sadyang walang budget, nasasayangan ako ng sobra sa talent nya. There maybe some truths to that, because I think it could have been presented way much better. Undeniably, nowadays, every good song and artist will never make it to the top of the competition if not properly backed-up with great production. And here, I think the makers may have failed.

To whoever made that and you wanted to challenge me – hmmmp, ask me I may show you how. Please take this a a healthy evaluation. Sorry if that's how I see it, and maybe the many others too.  Okay Fine! Regardless I still love the song - very much.

Try to see what I am talking about with her music video below.

3 Idiots

Not really my attitude to recommend movies but I shall be providing exception for this one – Aamir Khan's latest film, "3 Idiots.” This is one of Bollywood’s (term to call for Indian movies) priced films that became a top grosser in India not only through a number of movie goers in their country but specifically due to the good reviews and commendations it received abroad.

The leading actor-producer-director wrote on his blog that box office takings for the coming-of-age comedy had already surpassed those for his 2008 hit "Ghajini," which was the previous record holder.

In the United States alone "3 Idiots" has so far made 4.8 million dollars after opening in nearly 120 US theaters.

No Bollywood film has crossed the $4-million threshold before.

The film's success has given Bollywood a boost, after a disappointing 2009 marked by a damaging producers' boycott of multiplex cinemas in a row over box office takings, swine flu fears and a string of big budget flops.

The Business Standard said "3 Idiots" has so far made more money than Bollywood's entire ticket receipts in November, which included the hit "Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani" (An Amazing Story Of Strange Love).

Mayank Shekhar, national cultural editor at The Hindustan Times newspaper, said the same expatriate Indian "IT crowd" who bought "Five Point Someone" appear to have flocked to US cinemas, boosting audiences.

So if you haven’t watched this film yet, please do. Defitely this is a very good one. Promise! Sneak the preview below.

Daily Mantra

Let me share with you a very attractive mantra we Christians should try to have. I know that many of us don't feel so much comfortable talking about God and Jesus; guess what?? That's very me before. My personal reason was I felt weaker when I will rest everything to God. It's a feeling that tends to be so proud of our own wit and strength. This is indeed very human. Then one day I realized that it wasn't weakness at all. Yes it was not! It's the acknowledgement that God is stronger that I am. And because we know that He is strong, we can rest with the idea that we can never go wrong.

Believe me, this is not an easy feat to believe into. It takes so much experience before you can surrender to the idea that God has the best things prepared to us.

Consider this, when we go out and roam around and we see a pretty lady walking with an Hermes bag (costing approximately Php 70-100K a piece) we tend to ask ourselves, why don't we have it. Or we see a cute guy in the mall's wide parking lot driving a Lamborghini and ask the same thing.

Know what??? A lesson I learned today is that we have to believe in abundance. We have to believe that all the riches in the universe is own by God and that there's lot of it for all of us to enjoy. The only thing we have to do is to ask for it earnestly and allowing Him to work accordingly in His perfect time. God's time is the perfect timing. And I mean that as I have experienced it for several times.

So the next time you see someone so blessed - tell yourself "I AM NEXT". And what you are about to receive is the best for you.

Now here's the mantra I was talking about. I hope you find it helpful each and every day.

Today I receive all of God’s love for me. Today I opened myself to the unbounded, limitless, overflowing abundance of God. Today the God’s blessings healing and miracles. Today I opened myself to God’s work so I’d become more like Jesus every day. Today I proclaimed that I am God’s beloved. I’m God’s servant; I’m God’s powerful champion. And because I am blessed, I am blessing the world. In Jesus name, Amen.

Gone for the Weekend

My apology to those who have been following my blog – I was out for nearly 3 days. My family went to my grandparents’ place of origin which is in Calamba, Missamis Occidental. It was such a nice place. My sisters and I had fun in the beach, a private estate owned by a relative so we practically enjoyed the privacy of the place. It was a great place to spend for relaxation and also for deep reflection. And I am glad for one, to have experienced such a lovely time.

To cut the story short…. The whole time was spent at three (3) different provinces namely, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte and Misamis Occidental.

On our way back home, we stopped by Oroquieta  City. Ahmmm, it was the decision on my mom. And this place have some significance to me. You know, there are some words or place we know that is sometimes synonymous to a person. And this city apparently is synonymous to someone special for me. I admit it that I was hoping to see him somewhere when we stopped by.

Wala lang share ko lang….. :) :)))

What Happened To Our History?

The Untold Chapters of our History?

I was drooling over my iPhone videos last night while trying to get some good sleep. Then I bumped into this very interesting YouTube video. The video talks about a purported silenced part of our history primarily in the era of the Marcoses. I don’t know with you but there are actually some facts presented in the video that makes my head just continue nodding and agreeing to the presentation. After watching the video you might wanna ask, what happened to our (Philippine) history?
